Moving In Tomorrow!

OK, so it’s not 100% done, but it will be 90% done and I can live with that! We came back from Vegas on Monday to a warped piece of granite that prevented the tile guy from adding our backsplash, which prevented some of the appliances from going in and so on and so forth…

Granite issue fixed, new tile for the backsplash picked out, light fixtures changed (well, ordered, but not yet changed) and the bay window bench seat is now hinged for storage. The tile guys were installing the backsplash while we were there today. It’s not grouted or sealed, but I still love it!

This is travertine in ‘cappuccino’ with accents in 1” glass tiles. This is the backsplash over the range and a little to the left.

I was hoping this would help, but it may not do much for your vision until it’s grouted and sealed.

This was taken the first time I stopped by today. The pictures above this were the 2nd stop-in. Aren’t the cabinets amazing! My new appliance garage is now installed as well.

This is the backsplash between the island and it’s raised bar as well as over the sink.

Just another view. I think the 2x4 holding up the overhang is just amazing…ok, so it’s tacky, but I am sure it will be gone sometime tomorrow! See here is a big change that will happen. The cabinet the tile guy is standing under…it will be replaced by a larger cabinet so that all the cabinets will scoot down farther to the left. There was way too much space left after the diagonal cabinet at the end. This won’t be happening til later this summer, maybe even after I have returned to Manila. It’s ok..I still love it!

So, tomorrow we move home…for the summer!

Just to make the day more exciting today, we returned to my in-laws house tonight and the duck we have been keeping an eye on (she’s been living in a dense bush up against the house and we have suspected a nest with eggs) was wandering up and down the driveway with her little ducklings! It was such a great surprise! We had to stay clear from her as not to upset her, but I snuck out the front door and got a quick pic of her in their pond right before she hopped out (she was startled by me :().
